Who is God?
While we are always debating about who our Gods were. Who was Sita-Ram, Radha-Krishna, Hanuman, Arjuna, Karna, Valmiki, Ved Vyas and etc. Or, in a more spiritual sense, who were Shiv-Shakti, Vishnu, Laxmi, Brahma, Ganesh, Indradev, Daksh, etc.Â
We all are familiar with these names and the moment we hear about them, we recall their stories.Â
But, there’s always a dilemma we all get into the moment we think about them.
- How could someone hold a mountain with their little finger?Â
- How could someone fly in the air carrying a mountain?
- How could someone live for thousands of years?
- How could their weapons appear out of nowhere?
- How could they have had thousands of wives?
- And whatnot!
It is ironic that humans really believe in these stories in literal form. All these stories are authentic, true, and divine but I believe it is all metaphoric. They are the storybooks for the children of God, which is what we all are.
Secondly, we know, read, and believe that God is omnipresent. He is present everywhere at all the places and all the time. Past, present, and future are the reality of time, not beyond. Hence, God never ages. God remains the same soul all the time.Â
Hence, how can you believe those facts as literal facts? Those books are called Mythology and mythology is based on mythical stories. The extracts you get out of them are the only nutrition a soul needs to take, rest all is feces.
Everyone gets a different meaning from that story book though, and it feels fair enough.Â
Don’t we say everybody and their needs are different? One may crave sweets and one may just not stand too much sugar.
Similarly, every soul and their needs are different. Every soul extracts what it truly needs from the book, in terms of spiritual taste and health. And very often, when the soul is not in its real state, which in current times you can see, it might extract things for pleasure’s sake which can be quite unhealthy for the soul itself.
Sati system occurred in our world. Do you think a woman was ever supposed to be burnt alive? Do you believe God might have suggested such cruelty? I don’t think so!
It happened because God’s children, a few souls, executed such a heinous act for the sake of pleasure. Pleasure arose from the selfish needs of people to get rid of a burden that would do no good in those times, as women could not contribute much without a husband (this is something they believed probably).Â
- She could not provide money.
- She could not provide for a kid.
- She has no job left, the job that was her husband.
And we all know that people, due to feelings of jealousy and greed, commit wicked acts, which happen at all times.
So, after reading the holy books, one can either extract kindness and love, or, they can extract hatred and violence, or somewhere between these extremities. Consequently, it explains there can never be one interpretation or answer to these books.
Now, comes a question, what is the truth then? How do these stories make sense in our lives? How to know what message to take and what not to?
Well, the answer is quite simple.
When a child listens to a story recited by his parents, he hears a lot of things. He hears about love, death, fights, dance, tears, hatred, etc. He experiences all kinds of emotions while listening to the story. Does this mean that when he wakes up in the morning, he has to go live his life in all those ways?Â
No! He lives by the rules and guidance of his parents.
Similarly, one needs to know what his parents(God) would suggest before taking any action in life. Or, how would his parents(God) want him to behave?
That doesn’t mean one needs to be all goody-goody all the time. Like that child, one needs to live with every blessing he is born with. The only thing that matters is ‘Principles’.
No parent will ever suggest their child go violent on other people. If their child is in pain because of others, a good and mature parent would only suggest a better way to deal with such matters.
The only question left unanswered is how to relate to these stories.
Well, I can give you a gist for now.
Do you think those magical mysterious stories literally happened at some point?
The answer to this is, yes!
However, your question should be about, when, and how?
If God is omnipresent, these stories are omnipresent too. They come with the Gods, they are about Gods’ lives, hence, they remain with the Gods all the time.
These stories are even occurring right now, in a different realm.
But that realm is very much within reach.
Every individual has a piece of the Universe in itself. And just like a mirror, even after it breaks, it still shows the entire reflection of the person standing in front. You are one piece and so am I.
We all have the reflection of the Universe in us. We all can see and meet Gods. The realm where they all lie is spiritual. Hence, you will meet them all in your spirit. Which is why when you meet yourself, you meet God. And that’s why you NEED to identify and recognize yourself.
- Arjuna had to fight with his family on the guidance of Lord Krishna, doesn’t your soul’s righteousness guide you to do the same when you see something truly illogical and unfair in the name of traditions and culture?
- Krishna was taken away from his parents and then came back to his real parents, killed Kans, and rescued his parents from prison. Does that not also mean, that a child got disconnected/ detached from his parents spiritually because of the demon that was residing in his parents and for very long, kept them in captivity, and the child, after he grew up, understood his parents’ limitations and their trauma and decided to heal himself, killed the demon in himself and his parents, broke unhealthy repeating patterns coming from generations and rescued the originality of the parents?
- Sudama lost his wealth and fortune, but when he approached Krishna, he received great wealth since he was his great friend. Doesn’t this also mean a person lost his blessings because of his wrong deeds, and the moment he came back to his friend God, he came back to the love, goodness and kindness in himself, he followed God’s path and did good deeds, and hence, he got blessed back and better than before? Don’t we say God is forgiving?
And many more stories, which can be explained if you only dig a little deeper. And very often, it conveys not one but many meanings.
Hence,
- The fight of Arjuna is happening for real, in many souls on this earth.
- Many Krishnas are rescuing their parents from demons and killing their old but wrong patterns.
- Many Draupadis have five husbands/faces such as Yudhishtir (truth), (Bheem) strength, (Arjuna) warrior, (Sahadev)wisdom and (Nakul) Healer, and still going through a struggle with Duryodhan/Devil(Ego, Anger, etc.) inside her who is not letting the Pandavas win, who is exploiting her traits of givingness, kindness, and love.
Try to really understand and decode the message these beautiful stories are conveying. God resides in all of us, so, even if someone plays with the scriptures and the texts, you must always eventually rely on your heart.
Even the intellectuals are debating about these topics in a literal way.Â
If you try to decode Harry Potter, you will find so many relatable messages that are occurring in your own lives. Does that mean a place called Hogwarts exists?Â
No fiction is literal. You might say, there are physical proofs of the story, but whoever God guided to write these books, was guided in a way that they mixed fiction with reality.
Like right now, wars are happening, pandemics are happening, volcanoes are breaking out, and destruction is coming alive on Earth. The structure of the planet is being transformed literally. And the same destruction is happening inside each soul.
“Just like a piece of mirror, one individual’s soul is representing the entire picture of the world. You are a part of the new story. And how that story of fiction-cum-reality transforms into a book in the real world is something only time will tell, and most probably, it might remain a mystery to the characters themselves.”
